From 4 to 6 April, following the success of previous editions, the Salon des Métiers d’Art returns to Les Baux-de-Provence. Remaining true to its aim of passing on knowledge and craftsmanship, the fair welcomes not only artisans but also trainers. The Louis Jou workshop, the Atelier du Livre and the Sarragan quarry are opening their doors for the occasion.
Listed as a ‘Remarkable Heritage Site’, the town of Les Baux-de-Provence offers more than just an exceptional heritage. It also aims to be a place for passing on both traditional and contemporary skills.
In 2023, as part of the European Artistic Crafts Days – in which it has been actively participating for the past two years – it is hosting, for the first time, an Artistic Crafts Fair organised in partnership with the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Chamber of Trades and Crafts.
Today, this fair showcases the work of around thirty craftspeople, including trainers, Compagnons du Devoir, carpenters and stonemasons, building archaeologists, sculptors and more…
Also on the programme:
- guided tours to bring the stones of the village and the castle to life, led by a tour guide and a ‘Compagnon du Devoir’.
- demonstrations of artistic craftsmanship.
