Camon, a fortified village in the Cathar Pyrenees, where roses reign supreme...
Nestled in a valley in the Ariège, Camon unfolds along the banks of the Hers. Founded as a 10th-century abbey and later converted into a fortified priory, it draws you into its narrow streets lined with houses with Romanesque tiles. Everywhere, climbing roses add colour to the façades, living up to its nickname of “the village of a hundred roses”. All around, the green hills and the silhouette of the Pyrenees create a panorama of remarkable beauty!
