If you’re exploring on your own, follow the village’s historic walking trail (45 mins). Anecdotes, hidden symbols on the façades, local traditions… to discover the village in a different light, book a guided tour at the Tourist Office.

Try the moist “dicke Kuche”, a brioche created by the village bakery, along with the delicious Fleischknepfle (meat dumplings), and treat yourself to a glass of local wine (in moderation, of course!). Treat your taste buds to this true taste of northern Alsace!
Bargain hunting at Kelsch'Idée
Discover the history of the village and rural life of yesteryear, and find that special “made in Alsace” gift you’ll love! Housed in a converted old barn in the heart of the village, Kelsch’Idée is a museum of yesteryear, a second-hand shop and a local craft shop all in one, where you can find the famous “kelsch”, a traditional Alsatian fabric.

[EUROPEAN HERITAGE DAYS] Come (re)discover the largest open and accessible structure of the Maginot Line in Alsace.
As part of the European Heritage Days, come and (re)discover Fort de Sch?nenbourg, the largest visitable fort in Alsace. With its 3 kilometers of internal galleries 30 meters below ground, its surface area of over 15,000 square meters and its original equipment, it offers an unprecedented return to the past. The most heavily bombed fort in France during the 1939-1940 campaign, it stood up to its adversaries, defended its positions with courage and valour, and remained undefeated. Immerse yourself in the daily life of the soldiers of the Maginot Line and discover the underground life of the early days of the Second World War in Alsace. You'll also find an unusual tour of the fort at 6.30pm.

Une forêt qui s'ensauvage
A plot left untouched by human intervention presents a landscape of dead trees and bushes, in stark contrast to the neighboring orderly forests. Deemed by some as abandoned and by others as rich in life, this place reveals the subjectivity of our view of nature. Registration by 09/10, 12 noon.
In the Hunspach communal forest, there's a plot of land where humans no longer intervene. It is a mess of dead trees, brambles and overgrown bushes. Its appearance is in stark contrast to the well-ordered forests that surround it. An unhealthy, abandoned place for some, a haven of life for others, our perception of nature is based on a set of criteria, many of which are far from objective. An immersion into the heart of the wilderness and our prejudices?

Schœnenbourg Fort Circular Walk
With the return of fine weather, set off to explore the grounds of the Fort. This accessible 6 km walk takes you through woodland and clearings to the edge of the Maginot Line. Panoramic views of the Alsace plain and the Northern Vosges accompany you on this nature walk.
"Picturesque villages along the Rhine" cycle route
Set off on this 49 km cycling adventure, starting from Hunspach! Cycle through the picturesque villages of the Outre-Forêt, ride down to the Rhine and enjoy the scenery of the Sauer Delta Nature Reserve.
