By supporting ‘Les Plus Beaux Villages de France’, you’ll be playing your part in theadventure that began over 40 years ago to preserve, promote and develop villages with exceptional heritage. Convinced that these villages can avoid the pitfalls of becoming mere ‘village museums’ or ‘theme parks’, our network is driven by a strong ambition for sustainable tourism development based on the preservation of cultural, built and environmental heritage, on maintaining local shops and services for residents, and on the quality of life in these communities.

This ambition must be championed not only by elected representatives, but also by residents and visitors, because ‘Les Plus Beaux Villages de France’ is everyone’s business. These are our roots and our legacy for future generations.
