History and points of interest in the heart of Burgundy
Fortified gates, half-timbered houses, the ruins of the Old Castle and the museum’s eclectic collections combine to take you on a fascinating journey through the history of Noyers. Keep your eyes peeled: there are plenty of surprises hidden behind the façades of this medieval town!
A Nucérian legend
The Venoise Tower, known as the ‘wolf’s cellar’, is the only tower in the city walls which, it would appear, still bears a name of recent origin. It refers to a legend that only emerged during the last century, according to which a stray wolf is said to have fallen into the tower’s vaulted chamber. Unless, that is, the name derives from the nickname of a former owner of the property, Jean-Charles Richon, known as ‘Petit loup’…!

Everything you need for a convivial afternoon in an enchanting setting… The losers of the pétanque match are in charge of preparing the meal!
