Puycelsi, a fortified medieval village and the jewel of Occitan Tuscany
Take the time to wander through Puycelsi, amongst the stone and brick houses, Saint-Corneille Church and the traces of its past as a fortress. From the top of its ramparts, the walkway offers exceptional views of the Grésigne Forest.
And if you’re feeling peckish, local specialities – from Gaillac AOC wines to homemade compotes – are on hand to prolong the enjoyment.

A Puycelsian’s Account
In 1386, besieged and starving at the hands of the English, the inhabitants of Puycelsi came up with an idea: to parade their last pig along the ramparts. The English, taken in by the ruse, lifted the siege!
