Roman and Episcopal town at the foot of the Pyrenees
Located about thirty kilometres from Luchon, Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges is an ancient Roman town which has become a significant stop on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route.
Word of Mouth
Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges Cathedral is thought to house one of the finest classical organs in Europe. Commissioned by Jean de MAULEON, Bishop of Comminges, it was built following the completion of the choir stalls in 1551 and is thought to be the work of Nicolas BACHELIER, a French architect and sculptor (1487–1556). Listed as a Historic Monument since 1840, it is a rare example of a gallery organ whose case, rising to a height of nearly 16 metres, follows the angle of the wall against which it rests.

EXPOSITION LONGUE VUE
Longue-vue looks at the transformation of landscapes through the lens of new artistic and ecological gestures. To better contemplate, create and exchange together.
A spyglass invites you to take a journey at your fingertips. Look around you, reach what you can barely see, what you don?t know, or what you really want to discover. Take the time to look around and travel at the right pace. But what would be the ideal route and the dream location? To reach the neighboring shore, the Pyrenees or the moon on foot, by canoe or by aircraft? To each his own telescope to visit and rediscover sites close by, known or unknown. Longue-vue invites you to take this other journey: invite three artists to create a landscape together by intertwining their creations. In other words, to create a garden of works, both exterior (Laréole) and interior (Les Olivétains). The exhibition allows for this journey and a certain ubiquity. To be here and there. Bringing together two places with the works of three artists also means bringing us together to multiply viewpoints, exchange and connect.

RACAPYR - 10ÈME ÉDITION
RA.CA.PYR: Self-guided hike (on horseback, by horse-drawn carriage, by bike, on foot, or with a dog) ending Saturday at the Es Pibous campground in Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges. A friendly evening at the “Chez Simone” restaurant; on-site accommodations. Self-reliance, camaraderie, and the spirit of the Pyrenees are at the heart of the event.
The RA.CA.PYR, Rassemblement des Cavaliers et Attelages Pyrénéens will take place from September 12 to 13, 2026 in Haute-Garonne (31). Since its creation in 2017, our event has aimed to bring together, every year, ALWAYS on the second weekend of September, riders, drivers, cyclists, walkers, and cani-randonneurs, in love with the Pyrenees, for a festive evening, in a different location in our beautiful mountains. This 10th edition will take you around the Mont-Saint-Michel of the Haute-Garonne, the Cathedral of SAINT-BERTRAND-DE-COMMINGES. Each participant organizes his or her own itinerary, for a day, a weekend or a week, hiking at his or her own pace. The only obligation is to arrive at our temporary bivouac site on Saturday late afternoon, to share this unique moment, where the values of sharing, simplicity, the pleasure of hiking and creating your own path resonate in every discussion. This year, RA.CA.PYR will be setting up camp at Camping Es Pibous in Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges (31510). Our team will be waiting to help you set up in a bungalow or tent/camping-car/van, as you wish. Your horses will be accommodated on site. Then it's time for our welcome aperitif, with a little surprise, and a convivial dinner at the restaurant "Chez Simone", where everyone's adventures will leave behind incredible memories. The RA.CA.PYR does not rhyme with Rally, nor with over-consumption. It rhymes with autonomy, each at his own level, each with his own dreams. The organizing association: the Association des Randonneurs Cavaliers du Savès (ARCS RIEUMES) will be on hand to help you organize your weekend, and if you wish, you can even accompany its members from the morning of Saturday 12th, returning the following day if you wish. This unique experience will help you discover that hiking leads to the essential, and it's with stars in your eyes that you'll become a Racapyrien.
