Perched on its limestone outcrop, La Garde-Adhémar overlooks the Drôme Provençale and offers you a panoramic view of the Rhône Valley. Let yourself be drawn into its sun-drenched narrow streets, past white stone houses, medieval ramparts and castle ruins. As you round a corner, the Romanesque church of Saint-Michel rises up against the horizon. End your stroll at the Jardin des Herbes, a fragrant haven where Provence can be both breathed in and admired.

Eglise Saint-Michel

This church, located in the heart of the village, is a gem of 12th-century Provençal Romanesque architecture. Inside, visitors can admire the barrel-vaulted nave, the two apses and the octagonal dome.

At the foot of the village lies the Val des Nymphes, a true haven of nature. The Chapel of Notre-Dame, the only remnant of the village's past, was once inhabited until the 13th century.

Walking “from silhouette to silhouette”

Follow the “From Top to Bottom” trail, one of the themed routes in the “From Silhouette to Silhouette” series. Over a distance of nearly 4 km, discover the artistic silhouettes that dot the landscape around La Garde-Adhémar. Oak trees, dry-stone walls and the scent of thyme accompany you along the way, revealing all the charm of the Drôme Provençale.

A visit to the “Au bonheur des Animaux” farm

Enjoy a fun-filled afternoon getting up close to the animals on the farm. Whether abandoned or rescued, goats, rabbits, donkeys, chickens and many others are the real stars of the show. Young and old alike will love getting up close to them, feeding them and exploring the enclosures! There’s also a picnic area, a playground and pony rides on offer. And why not sign up for the “little farmer’s course”?

Wine tastings

Set amongst vineyards and rolling hills, enjoy a convivial break with a tasting of Grignan-les-Adhémar AOC wines at one of the village’s vineyards (ask at the Tourist Office for details). This introduction to Provençal flavours is even more immersive when accompanied by local cheeses!

Mountain bike rides

As the warmer weather arrives, set off on the mountain bike trails that criss-cross La Garde-Adhémar. Through the woods, in the Val des Nymphes, along the greenway... With nearly twenty routes of varying lengths, suitable for all abilities, you can explore the rolling landscapes of the Drôme Provençale and enjoy a breath of fresh air in the heart of nature.
