Grignan, a gem of the Drôme Provençale
Fancy a getaway to a medieval village in Provence? Discover Grignan!
This village, with its enchanting charm, is dominated by its Renaissance castle. Cobbled streets, golden stone façades, the scent of lavender… every corner has its own story!
Food lovers won’t be able to resist the black truffles and AOC Grignan-les-Adhémar wines, whilst history buffs will be captivated by the unique atmosphere that so inspired Madame de Sévigné.
Life in a château in Provence
You simply can’t visit Grignan without climbing up to the château! Breathtaking views of the village and its collegiate church… You’ll be amazed at every turn!
Word of Mouth
It was in the Rochecourbière cave, a stone’s throw from Grignan, that the Marquise de Sévigné wrote her famous letters.

Explore the village on foot
Whether on a guided tour or at your own pace, wander through the steep alleyways and admire the row of houses with their light-coloured stone façades, the wash house with its unusual architecture reminiscent of an ancient temple, the belfry and the old 13th-century fortified gate, and lose yourself in the labyrinth of the Sévigné Garden.
Meet at Place du Mail for the market
On Tuesday mornings, at Place du Mail, take a stroll through the market aisles – a veritable feast of flavours and colours: fruit and vegetables from the Drôme Provençale, fabrics and handmade crafts.

Savour the local flavours
In the village’s fine restaurants or at the producers’ premises, treat yourself to specialities from Grignan and the Drôme Provençale: Grignan-les-Adhémar and Côteaux du Tricastin AOP wines (in moderation), truffles or goat’s cheeses.

Treat yourself to a sunset with views of the Drôme countryside
From the château’s terrace or the forecourt of the collegiate church, admire the views of vineyards and lavender in the low, evening light.
