A Word from the Roquairols

On arriving in La Roque-sur-Cèze, it’s impossible not to hold your breath as you cross the 12th-century medieval bridge, which is so narrow that you have to cross it one at a time! Listed as a Historic Monument, it has proudly withstood the floods of the River Cèze for centuries.

Mountain Bike Route No. 7

Hop on your bike and set off to explore the picturesque villages and unspoilt landscapes of the Cèze Valley. This 30 km loop takes you through La Roque-sur-Cèze and Goudargues to Saint-Laurent de Carnols, offering breathtaking views and natural sites.

Follow the meandering course of the Cèze on this nearly 8 km walk through the wooded hills and vineyards surrounding the village, passing by the spectacular Sautadet waterfalls. In spring, the flowers and trees bring the valley to life with vibrant colours.

Swimming in the Cèze

After exploring the Sautadet waterfalls, head downstream and treat yourself to a refreshing break on a small beach by the banks of the Cèze. Make the most of the clear water and natural surroundings for a relaxing afternoon. Please note: swimming in the waterfalls is strictly prohibited due to the dangerous currents.

Fishing on the Cèze

Get your fishing rods out and settle down on the banks of the Cèze to try your luck at catching pike, whitefish and carp. In autumn, when the trees’ golden and red foliage makes fishing even more enjoyable. It’s the perfect time to recharge your batteries in peaceful surroundings, surrounded by nature.
