Pujols-le-Haut, a medieval vantage point overlooking the Lot Valley
A former Albi stronghold perched at an altitude of over 180 metres, Pujols-le-Haut overlooks the Lot Valley and offers breathtaking views. Stroll through the cobbled streets of this medieval village, and admire its half-timbered houses and fortified gates, which tell the story of centuries of history. There are also two religious gems to discover: Saint-Nicolas Church and Sainte-Foy Church, adorned with 16th-century frescoes.
A stronghold in the Lot Valley
Here, the warm atmosphere and the light of the South imbue every stone with the gentle spirit of Occitania: the remains of the ramparts, the castle and the churches bear witness to the very soul of Pujols-le-Haut.
Word of Mouth
Did you know that Sainte-Foy Church is actually called Sainte-Foy-la-Jeune? After the Hundred Years’ War, the locals decided to rebuild a new church further up the hill to replace Sainte-Foy-la-Vieille, which remained in the valley.
