Socheata Canto-Aing’s performances are the result of a blend of harmoniously combined elements, which are deeply enriched by her practice of writing. Through handmade objects and short stories, she has explored what connects human beings: the anecdotes we share, the beliefs that guide us, and the rituals we invent to navigate the world and cope with its constraints. Exhibition opening on Friday, July 17, at 6:30 p.m. The exhibition is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Special opening hours on Saturday, August 15, and Sunday, August 16, and on Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Folk beliefs and rituals—whether passed down or invented—that connect us to one another, through the symbol of forsythia and a collection of stories, gestures, and objects that embody hope, memory, and resilience. Opening reception on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.

%AB I was a resident artist in Monflanquin from February to May 2026. During my stay, I explored popular beliefs—those that bring us good luck and protect our loved ones. I collected intimate, familial, cultural, invented, or religious rituals to seek out that glimmer of hope—a desire to cling to comforting signs that help us persevere. These are beliefs passed down by loved ones, which help revive memories by carrying on their traditions. The first element gathered was forsythia, a plant commonly found in the landscape of Lot-et-Garonne that blooms at the end of winter. Its golden-yellow flowers are like suns heralding the arrival of spring. It is a plant native to the mountains of Asia.” Opening reception on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.

Since 1994, Janouille has been telling the story of Monflanquin, including the Hundred Years' War, the Black Prince and the Wars of Religion. Tours accessible to all ages.

All summer long, he puts on his costume of light and comes to meet you. In C?ur de Bastides, Janouille needs no introduction, as he loves to talk to the curious, young and old alike. The Cœur de Bastides Tourist Office, as part of the 2026 European Heritage Days, is offering a stained-glass workshop for children ages 6 to 12. After a fun introduction to stained-glass techniques, the children will create their own designs inspired by the stained-glass windows of medieval churches and cathedrals using age-appropriate materials. The children will leave with a colorful decoration that lets light shine through just like a real stained-glass window! Come and let your creativity run wild! The workshop will be led by a tour guide from the Tourist Office. Reservations required! Limited spaces available! Your child must be able to understand and follow instructions in French and communicate in French. A parent or legal guardian must be present.

The G.E.M. association and its "Arts plastiques" section offer exhibitions throughout the season. This week, the Salle d'Aquitaine invites you to admire the paintings of artist Andra Daans. She is a Dutch artist living in France, shaped by the richness of her mixed Dutch and Surinamese heritage. Growing up, Andra was captivated by the visual arts and experimented with different mediums before finding her true calling in oil painting. Her artistic journey led her to study at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague and the Free Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, experiences that deepened her artistic expression and strengthened the link with her multicultural roots. She works exclusively in oil on linen canvas, and her style has evolved over time.

Concert connaissance des jeunes interprètes : Quatuor Våren

On the program: Haydn, Grieg, Szymanowski... Composed of Jean-Baptiste Iachemet and Elliott Pages (violins), David Heusler (viola), and Adèle Quartier de Andrade (cello), and founded in 2017, the V%E5ren Quartet quickly developed a shared passion for the string quartet repertoire, particularly enjoying the exploration of lesser-known works. In 2024, the V%E5ren Quartet won prizes at various international competitions (Lyon International Chamber Music Competition, FNAPEC, Virtuoso e Belcanto, Premio Giangrandi-Eggmann).
