A Roussillon Legend
Raymond of Avignon, Lord of Roussillon, neglected his wife Sermonde whilst out hunting; as a result, she spent a little too long in the company of the troubadour Guillaume de Cabestan. Upon learning of his misfortune, the lord killed the lover, tore out his heart and served it to Sermonde, before revealing the nature of the dish to her.
