Saint-Robert, a Benedictine gem and stately homes in the heart of the Corrèze countryside
Situated on the border between Limousin and Périgord, Saint-Robert combines the simple charm of its countryside with the grandeur of its medieval heritage.
Let yourself be captivated by the beauty of its fortified Romanesque church, a remnant of a former Benedictine monastery, and by the elegance of its stately homes built of cut stone! Perched at 350 metres above sea level, the village offers a panoramic view of the rolling countryside of southern Corrèze.

Medieval heritage, culture and local character in southern Corrèze
In this region bordering Corrèze and the Dordogne, the turbulent period of the Middle Ages has left behind numerous traces. From castles and turreted houses to simpler yet imposing dwellings, you’ll be charmed by the village’s ancient architecture… before being won over by the way of life cultivated here today: from the most renowned musical events to village festivals celebrating the local Corrèze specialities!
Filming is taking place in Saint-Robert!
The filming of the television series “Des grives aux loups” (1984), adapted from a saga by Claude Michelet, a local resident, remains etched in the villagers’ memories. In 2020, Anne Fontaine’s film “Présidents”, starring Jean Dujardin as Nicolas Sarkozy, was filmed largely in the village of Saint-Robert, marking, once again, the big screen’s interest in the village.

Walk to the miraculous fountain
Here’s a lovely suggestion for a walk for lovers of nature and legends! This 7 km route (allow 2 hours 15 minutes’ walking) will take you to a place known as ‘Saint-Maurice’, which was once home to a commandery of the Order of Saint John, of which a few remains can still be seen, notably two beautiful arches and, above all, a ‘miraculous’ fountain. According to legend, this fountain is said to have the power to heal sick children and help the elderly age well...
