Images, colours and music unfold across the monumental limestone walls, revealing the strength, freedom and modernity of his creative vision. Created with the authorisation of Picasso Administration, the experience draws on more than 450 works, archives and videos, offering a visual and sound journey through the major stages of his career, from Spain to France, from Les Demoiselles d’Avignon to Guernica. An immersive and emotional experience, accessible to all generations, rediscovering one of the absolute masters of modern art. Frida Kahlo, At the Very Heart Short programme – 14 minutes To plunge into the world of Frida Kahlo is to enter the heart of an intense life, shaped by passion, freedom and pain. This immersive experience invites visitors to discover the intimacy and creative power of the Mexican artist through an explosion of colours, symbols and emotions. Through monumental projections, the walls of the Carrières des Lumières trace the major stages of her life and work, from self-portraits marked by suffering to paintings that assert her identity and commitment. Here, Frida Kahlo transforms pain into art, and the personal into the universal.

Between strength and lightness, Philippe Chazot’s bronzes in the Quiqueran Garden reveal the sensuality, mystery, and spirituality of the female body.

Through refined, almost aerial female figures, the artist explores the mystery, sensuality, and spirituality of the human body. A self-taught sculptor born in Ardèche in 1964 and now based in the south of France, Philippe Chazot has developed a body of work recognized both in France and internationally, centered on the female figure. Stripped of all superfluous elements, his sculptures seem to rise into space and invite a sensory encounter, balancing inner strength with the poetry of form.

Philippe CHAZOT is a sculptor who mainly creates bronze sculptures. Philippe CHAZOT?s main theme is the curve of the female body. His works are first created in clay, then metamorphosed into bronze. Lydia KALIS is a sculptural artist, and each sculpture is a unique creation requiring several days' work and excellent artistry. The sculptures of Lydia KALIS are born between her fingers, carried by a second passion, that of horses, and then the discovery of clay modeling. Lydia KALIS transports us into a pure interpretation, a posture in a climate of serenity, peace and respect.

Young and old alike are invited to step back in time and try their hand at being a medieval artisan or calligrapher during workshops held throughout the summer at the castle.

These workshops are led by passionate facilitators in the exceptional setting of the fortress. It’s a wonderful way to explore our heritage in a different way—by getting your hands dirty! Medieval calligraphy, a demonstration of “tir à la bricole” (traditional archery), blacksmithing, workshops on making a purse and postcards… Shows and storytelling for children are also offered on certain days. On July 4, 2026, the Carrières des Lumières in Les Baux-de-Provence will present *Océan*, an immersion in the underwater world, a new immersive experience dedicated to the beauty and richness of the oceans.

Coral reefs, mysterious caves, shipwrecks and spectacular marine life immerse visitors in a large-scale journey to the heart of the deep sea, where they can discover over 100 species. This brand-new exhibition will alternate until the end of December with ‘Picasso: Art in Motion’ and ‘Frida Kahlo: From the Heart’. Combining wonder and awareness, the experience invites visitors to discover the fragility of the oceans and the importance of their preservation.

Somewhere between material and drawing, Didier Le Gleuher’s artistic approach leans towards abstraction. The artist seeks lightness, in contrast to the weight of the tragic image of the world conveyed by the media and misinformation.

Art is an outlet that soothes him, but also a form of play that allows him to draw parallels between volume and surface without reference to trendy avant-garde movements. Didier Le Gleuher seeks to produce timeless art as a counterpoint to a critical perspective. This year, a new series of works complements his earlier pieces, which are mostly in black and white with a subtle hint of the three primary colors. Pascal THOUVENIN’s painting is a kind of %AB colorful meditation %BB—he allows the uncertain outline of the form to give free rein to its blurred boundaries, Virginie ARENT invites the viewer to discover a new vision of the world.

Virginie ARENT lives in Le Paradou. She has been passionate about drawing and the visual arts since childhood. She creates abstract works in mineral tones—shades of blue, ochre, and sand. She seeks to establish a dialogue between abstraction and the natural world. She uses oil paint, often diluted, which allows her to play with transparency and texture, thereby creating an interaction between the material and light. Pascal THOUVENIN also creates abstract paintings. His work combines pictorial mastery, skillful use of materials, perfect color harmony, and intelligent composition. He uses Chinese and Japanese papers, which he incorporates into the canvas, tearing them as he sees fit.

An exhibition of drawings, paintings and sculptures by Elisabeth CIBOT, who undertook multidisciplinary training in drawing, seal-carving, sculpture and printmaking in the studios of Etienne Martin, Félicien Favrat, the sculptor César and Léopold Kretz.

‘Autour du trait’ remains the crucible of his artistic output, with a variety of sculptural and graphic works coming together in the setting of the Galerie de Manville. Bronzes, ceramics, glass and crystal are displayed alongside a number of drawings on paper and canvas.

The Baux-de-Provence AOP Winegrowers’ Rally returns for its 7th edition on Saturday, September 26, 2026, for a fun and friendly day of exploration in the heart of the Alpilles. As a team and in your own vehicle, set out on the roads of the Alpilles to discover three Baux-de-Provence AOP wineries and an olive oil mill. Throughout the four stops on your route, winemakers and millers will welcome you to share their expertise through activities, tastings, riddles, and quizzes. The day begins at 9 a.m. with a gourmet welcome at Mas Sainte Berthe, featuring coffee and pastries. After setting off at 10 a.m., the various stops will allow you to discover the estates and terroir of the appellation while tackling the challenges along the way. Lunch at one of the vineyards, paired with wines from the Baux-de-Provence AOP, is also included in the registration fee. %C0 Starting at 6:00 p.m., participants gather at the Servanes Golf Course for a cocktail reception and the awards ceremony. The top teams will be rewarded with numerous prizes: vacations, meals, olive oils, local products, and wines from the Baux-de-Provence AOP. A special prize is also awarded for the best team name. Accessible to everyone thanks to a short route and a leisurely pace, this outing invites you to explore art, heritage, and landscapes, offering a fresh perspective on the interactions between humans and their environment. The Carrières des Lumières in Les Baux-de-Provence are former limestone quarries, operated until 1935, whose stone was used to build the village and its castle. %C0 Beginning in 1959, the site took on an artistic role thanks to Jean Cocteau and later to set designer Joseph Svoboda. Since 2012, it has hosted immersive digital exhibitions showcasing the great masterpieces of art history. Today, this venue exemplifies the successful transformation of a former industrial site into a major cultural space where heritage, art, and landscape blend together. The first part takes place at the Carrières des Lumières. Accompanied by a guide, participants explore the “Océans” exhibition, an immersive experience that reveals the richness of the seabed, the diversity of species, and the major balances that govern aquatic environments. This introduction serves as a starting point for discussing the challenges related to the preservation of life and the connections that unite all ecosystems. The second part takes the form of a guided walk near Les Carrières. Guided by a tour leader, participants explore the landscapes of the Alpilles, shaped by millions of years of geological history and human activity. This walk invites participants to observe the natural and cultural heritage of the mountain range, to understand the formation of the old stone quarries, and to put these interactions into perspective. The second part takes the form of a guided walk through the neighborhood. Accompanied by a guide, participants explore the neighborhood’s history, its evolution, and the major transformations that have shaped this part of Marseille.
