Exposition : Sculptures en bronze de Philippe Chazot
Between strength and lightness, Philippe Chazot’s bronzes in the Quiqueran Garden reveal the sensuality, mystery, and spirituality of the female body.
Through refined, almost aerial female figures, the artist explores the mystery, sensuality, and spirituality of the human body. A self-taught sculptor born in Ardèche in 1964 and now based in the south of France, Philippe Chazot has developed a body of work recognized both in France and internationally, centered on the female figure. Stripped of all superfluous elements, his sculptures seem to rise into space and invite a sensory encounter, balancing inner strength with the poetry of form.

Ateliers & Animations au château des Baux-de-Provence
Young and old alike are invited to step back in time and try their hand at being a medieval artisan or calligrapher during workshops at the castle.
These workshops are led by passionate facilitators in the exceptional setting of the fortress. A wonderful way to explore our heritage in a different way—by getting your hands dirty! Medieval calligraphy, a demonstration of archery with a bow and arrow, blacksmithing, a workshop on making a purse, postcards... Shows and storytelling for children are also offered on certain days. For more information, contact the Tourist Office. Workshops are included in the castle’s admission price.

Carrières-des-Lumières : Océan, immersion dans le monde sous-marin
On July 4, 2026, the Carrières des Lumières in Les Baux-de-Provence will present *Océan*, an immersion in the underwater world, a new immersive experience dedicated to the beauty and richness of the oceans.
Coral reefs, mysterious caves, shipwrecks and spectacular marine life immerse visitors in a large-scale journey to the heart of the deep sea, where they can discover over 100 species. This brand-new exhibition will alternate until the end of December with ‘Picasso: Art in Motion’ and ‘Frida Kahlo: From the Heart’. Combining wonder and awareness, the experience invites visitors to discover the fragility of the oceans and the importance of their preservation.

The programme has changed: at the Carrières des Lumières, ‘Matisse: A Symphony of Colours’ brings the famous artist’s work to life in a spectacular immersive show, set within the monumental quarries of Les Baux-de-Provence. (Replacing ‘Picasso’)
Henri Matisse: a dazzling journey of colour from 9 October. Henri Matisse’s flamboyant world through a fascinating immersive experience As you follow a route punctuated by colour, the master’s works are revealed in a new light. From the famous Blue Nudes to Fauvism, via the luminous hues of ‘Luxe, calme et volupté’, let yourself be swept away by a true invitation to journey, accompanied by a spellbinding soundtrack. A poetic and immersive experience, introducing you to a daring artist whose work continues, even today, to fill us with wonder. As a shorter programme, echoing *Matisse: Symphony of Colours*, the experience dedicated to Frida Kahlo offers a sensitive and introspective counterpoint, revealing the power and poetry of her work.

Far from sources of light pollution, this hilltop village offers an ideal setting for stargazing.
Winter Sky Watching An astronomy evening dedicated to observing the winter sky on the Esplanade du Château des Baux, with telescopes available for use and guidance from amateur astronomers. Winter offers ideal conditions for stargazing thanks to skies that are often clearer and more cloud-free. There is a charge; bookings must be made at the Tourist Office.

Since the 16th century, the custom of the "aubade" ceremony has been kept by the shepherds of the Vallée des Baux.
Since the 16th century, the custom of the ceremony of the aubade has been preserved by the shepherds of the Vallée des Baux. The "patres baussencs - all men of sense", as is a provencal poet Charloun Rieu, and the félibre Christmas give, Christmas Eve an aubade and sing in their chant: «We descended, the patres of the mountain - to announce that we approach Christmas...» The Bayle and his flock parade through the streets of the village. The drummers give an aubade. The inhabitants of Arles and the Mireilles danced the farandole.
