Les jardins en dialogue : Art contemporain à Lyons-la-Forêt
%C0 In Lyons-la-For%EAt, time seems to settle as sediment rather than pass by. The half-timbered facades create an architectural style suspended between history and fiction. Here, the landscape is never neutral: it carries the memory of gazes and stories. Walking through it, one feels as though entering an image already dreamed up. The contemporary art trail, echoing “A Possible Garden,” was born from this sensation. The aim is not to create a garden, but to reveal the one that might emerge when reality is transformed by the power of the imagination. In the center of the village, a sculpture by Florian Mermin rises from a fountain like a silent metamorphosis. The butterfly it unfurls seems to emerge from the houses: the half-timbering becomes wings, the architecture an organism. Between bronze and flight, the work strikes a balance where heritage comes alive again. Danish artist Rasmus Myrup brings these longings for elsewhere to life by dressing three trees in T-shirts bearing the names of dream cities, while Tanja Smeets reveals organic forms throughout the village. A gentle transformation through which everyone learns to see what was already there in a new light. Spotlight on the Dutch art scene with support from the Mondriaan Fund and the Embassy of the Netherlands Artist(s): Rasmus Myrup, Florian Mermin, and Tanja Smeets | Curator: Philippe Platel Hours: Open to the public

Jardins Féériques
The “possible garden” imagined by Paul Rousteau offers a colorful and exhilarating immersion into a world inspired by Impressionism, paying tribute to Claude Monet on the centennial of his death. This video production accompanies Pierre Dumoussaud’s debut concert as music director of the Opéra Orchestre Normandie Rouen, creating a dialogue between image and music in an Impressionist Normandy where timbre becomes color and silence becomes breath. The musical program explores the birth of French modernism through Ropartz, Satie, Schmitt, and Ravel. David Walter’s orchestrations bring new depth to Satie’s *Gymnopédies* and *Gnossiennes*, while Schmitt evokes misty landscapes still marked by Wagner. The journey concludes with Ravel’s *Ma Mère l’Oye*, a musical tale of delicate refinement.
