Perched high above a lavender-blanketed plain, the houses of Montbrun-les-Bains shelter the ruins of an ancient medieval castle. Follow the fountain trail
Follow this 3 km trail (allow 1 hour for the walk) and let yourself be guided by the gentle sound of water flowing from Montbrun’s many fountains, as well as from its mills and thermal baths. A heritage and history trail punctuated by refreshing stops!
Soak up the flavours and scents
Goat’s cheese, honey, aromatic herbs, lavender products… Whether at the Saturday morning market or direct from the producers, the specialities of the Drôme Provençale are available to you through short supply chains!
Treat yourself to a ‘Natural Wellbeing Day’
Every first Sunday in September, Montbrun-les-Bains organises a day centred on wellbeing, plants and respect for the environment. A large market, a relaxation area, the thermal spa open to the public and a host of activities, all with a single aim: to treat yourself!
Take in the view of Mont Ventoux
You won’t need to go to great lengths to treat yourself to this reward! The walk around the “Citadelle” (named after the mountain facing the village) is an easy 4.1 km walk (about an hour’s walk) that will treat you to a breathtaking view of the “Giant of Provence”.
Learn how to make your own soap
Step into the shoes of a soap-maker! Workshops are held regularly by the Aroma‘Plantes distillery, both for children (on selected Tuesday afternoons) and for adults (on selected Thursday afternoons). You’ll go home with your own shower gel or soap, made using organic and locally sourced ingredients!

To beat the summer heat, there’s nothing like a quick dip in the pool! The pool at Montbrun-les-Bains has two outdoor pools (so you can still make the most of the lovely weather!): one for children and one for adults.
Hiking
Make the most of the vibrant colours and gentler sunshine of late autumn and head out into the great outdoors to recharge your batteries! To explore the Baronnies massif and its geological features, choose the ‘Three Passes’ route (17.5 km / approx. 4 hours 20 mins). For breathtaking views of Mont Ventoux starting from the old village of Montbrun, take the “Montagne de Vic” route (11.6 km / approx. 2 hours 50 mins)… amongst other options!
